The work of our Archdiocese & parish to support the Missionary work is one of the greatest expressions of acts of mercy and love for our fellow human beings. Some of these works include:-
Hospital clinic - Indonesia
Our church and congregation have helped raise enough money to build the first Orthodox Hospital in Medan in Indonesia called the THEOTOKOS. An Orthodox mission was established there to help the poor and the needy. The clinic dedictated to the Theotokos was opened on February 13, 2010. This hospital provides help to the poor - including assisting mothers who have had problems with their pregnancy. A major problem in this area is that pregnant women do not receive the necessary tests, which is why a clinic such as this can provide the help needed.
Theological School - Indonesia
A theological school was built nearby - Initially, there were 25 students, but gradually they increased to 170.
St Catherine’s has also sent assistance to Sumatra, Nias, Jakarta and Bali to maintain or build numerous Schools and Churches, a Hospital, a Monastery, 2 parcels of land to cultivate crops, food for 400 people every day and assistance for 2 tertiary students.
Madagascar
Our parish also has assisted in Madagascar over many years to help the poor, sick, schools, Churches, orphanage, nursing homes by sending 4 by 20ft and 40ft containers full of much needed items.
Democratic Republic of Congo (formerly Zaire and the Belgian Congo)
Our parish has donated to assist and help build a school (over 350 Students)
