Our Church today celebrated the feast day of St Xenia of Petersburg. A group of families from our Parish celebrate her feast every year by providing us with her Icon, a scarf that has been blessed on her grave and the traditional Kollyvo of the Saint.
Dr Mario Bagos provided an inspiring sermon dedicated to her life and on how we as Orthodox Christians can learn from her holy example. May St Xenia intercede for us all!
As well, today was the 40th day memorial (mnymosino) of Angel Rose. Our Parish together with her beautiful parents and family released a number of balloons in her memory- purple was her favourite colour- whilst chanting the Χριστός Ανέστη- the Hymn of the Resurrection. May God rest her beautiful soul and give strength to her grieving parents.
A big thank you to Eirini Alligiannis for the photos!
