Xronia Polla for this special feast-day of Mid-Pentecost! Because Christ as the Wisdom of God is also celebrated today, it is tradition that all Orthodox Churches named after Holy Wisdom (Hagia Sophia) also celebrate; and of course, the paradigm for all churches named after Holy Wisdom is in Constantinople. Happy feast-day to our long-lost and beloved cathedral! Also, the first talk for St Catherine's annual Byzantine month (Sailing to Byzantium) is just around the corner. Stay tuned for Dr Andrew Mellas' talk on 15th of May on Hagia Sophia. To tide you over in the meantime, the beautiful song Θα´ρθεις σαν αστραπή composed by Σταμάτης Σπανουδάκης. In this version, our blessed children sing this ode that mixes faith and folklore in a beautiful synthesis. Enjoy!
