Sunday School
"Then little children were brought to Him that he might put His hands on them and pray, but the disciples rebuked them. But Jesus said, ‘Let the little children come to Me, and do not forbid them; for of such is the kingdom of heaven.'" (Matthew 19:13-14)
As parents, we strive to nurture our children in all facets of their development. We want them to grow intellectually, academically, socially, emotionally, and physically. However, as Christians, the most sacred task set before us, is to help our children grow spiritually.
Our Parish Sunday School supports parents teach our children how to live their Orthodox faith. Together, we can provide them with the foundation to live Christian lives and to go out into the world and share their faith.
The mission of our Sunday School program is to work collaboratively with parents in the spiritual development of our youth so that together we can instill the teachings of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ in our students’ hearts, minds and souls.
Sunday School also gives the opportunity for parents to attend church for their own benefit while the kids are engaged in various activities in a classroom format.
Parents are encouraged to bring their children to church. The children first gather in the front row and line up for Holy Communion as a group before heading upstairs for the activities and the lesson. At the conclusion of the Divine Liturgy, the children are brought to their parents at the front of our church.
At the end of the year, the children put on an on-stage presentation and have the opportunity to attend various excursions, pilgrimages and activities throughout the year.
Our Parish Sunday School has dedicated classes for infants, primary and high school.
